這套南十字星釀酒師卓越精選葡萄酒非常獨特,每一瓶都能夠完美的展現出每一位釀酒師、在製作葡萄酒的技術與魅力方面的極致表現。這六位知名釀酒師選擇相同的Shiraz (希哈) 葡萄品種、並且種植在同一塊葡萄園上,由他們每一位都能夠發揮自己學到的專業知識、自主釀造出獨特風格的葡萄酒。

此外,每一位釀酒師都必須根據自己的專業知識,自行決定葡萄採收日期、釀酒工藝和發酵方法,以及選用釀造器皿材料等因素。最主要目的是探索不同釀酒師對相同葡萄品種的處理方式會產生什麼樣的影響。例如,釀酒師的性別可能會在一定程度上影響葡萄酒的風格,但這並不是為了讓他們相互競爭、而是為了讓他們能夠按照自己的釀酒理念來展現各自的風格與特點,這讓這套葡萄酒充滿了意義與收藏價值。

這塊葡萄園位於南澳大利亞的麥克拉倫谷,坐落於Blanche Point Limestone的地形上。這塊土地形成於5600至3400萬年前、土壤中含有豐富大量的水洗砂。這樣的土壤有助於葡萄藤有效吸收營養、同時也限制了葡萄品種的產量。

【Alpha Crucis Winemaker’s Series Shiraz is exceptionally unique, with each bottle perfectly showcasing the extraordinary skills and charm of each winemaker in the wine-making process. These six renowned winemakers chose the same Shiraz grape variety and planted it in the same vineyard, allowing each of these to apply their expertise and craft their distinct styles of wine.】〜 as quoted by Yichun.

Furthermore, each winemaker had to independently decide on factors such as the drape harvest date, winemaking techniques, fermentation methods, and the choice of vessel materials based on their expertise. The primary goal was to explore how different winemaker’s approaches to the same grape variety would influence the outcome. For example, the winemaker’s gender might have some impact on the wine’s style, but this wasn’t to foster competition among them. Instead, it was to allow each of them to express their individual styles and characteristics, making this collection meaningful and collectible.

The vineyard is situated in McLaren Vale, South Australia, on the Blanche Point Limestone terrain. This land was formed 34 to 56 million years ago and features soil rich in alluvial sand, which facilitates efficient nutrient absorption by the grapevines while limiting grape yield.

The ample winter rainfall in the region each year injects fresh growth vigor into the vines, ensuring the grapes begin maturation in prime condition. However, the winter of 2013 was relatively warm, followed by a dry spring and summer. The dry conditions in McLaren Vale contributed to reduced grape yields, with the 2013 vintage seeing a 50% reduction across the region. This made the grapes more concentrated and imparted more color and flavor to the wine. The 2013 vintage from McLaren Vale displayed exceptional quality, showcasing once again the region’s outstanding winemaking potential.
